The Brampton Board of Trade Santa Claus Parade - Part 1
The Brampton Santa Claus Parade
2016 Part 1
2016 Part 1
Santa Claus arrived in Brampton to another roaring reception on Saturday November 19th. The rain behaved and held off and The Brampton Board of Trade's Annual Santa Claus Parade was a enormous success again for the 31st time.
The Brampton Board of Trade has run the Parade since 1985. The Parade originally was held on the third Sunday in November in the afternoon, which started in 1985. The average attendance would be roughly 20,000 - 25,000 people and 20,000 viewers on Roger's Cable. In 1995, the parade switched to Saturday evening starting at 5:00pm to turn it into a nighttime event. The attendance doubled and in now the largest night time Santa Claus Parade in the country.
This edition was joyous as ever and rain that was
prevalent throughout the day, behaved and stayed away for all the faithful who lined the parade route. It had to be Santa, because the temperature descended to the point where snow would have been a more possibility. Snow at least would have made the Santa Claus Parade feel more seasonable.
The parade started at 5:00 pm at the top of Main St. & Vodden towards Elgin, and took roughly 1 hour. Many of the familiar floats and characters participated in the parade as well as many of Brampton's organizations.
Some of the familiar besides the Jolly man himself, were the Flaming volcano, Sparky, lots of Minions,
The Brampton Batman, the Kiwanis Clown Fire Truck. The Polar Express made an appearance as it was making it's way to the North Pole, or since it was travelling south maybe it was returning from the North Pole.
Below is a selection of pictures taken from the 2016 Edition of the Brampton Board of Trade Santa Claus Parade. There are so many pictures Brampton Bits & Bites will have to do 2 parts.

The Brampton Board of Trade Santa Claus Parade and the people who work tirelessly all year round to put The Santa Claus Parade on should be highly complimented and praised.
