Ted Brown Celebrates 5 Years
With Regeneration
On
Monday July 18th Ted Brown celebrated 5 years as Executive Director
and the people of Regeneration are indeed grateful for all his efforts. Ted has
lived in Brampton for 32 years and has served at the Kennedy Road Tabernacle
for 30 years. He is an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of
Canada. Ted has worked as a junior high
outreach pastor as well. His passion is to reach out to people in need without
judgment.
Hope Community Garden
With his
leadership and vision, Regeneration that was once only open five days a week
serving just breakfast's to many of Brampton's homeless, people at risk of
being homeless or are struggling just to survive. Today Regeneration through Ted's
tireless efforts is now open seven days a week, serving breakfast each morning,
plus lunch twice a week during the summer and three days a week with the help
from Students who attend various schools in Peel, come in on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Thursdays to help serve the meals and sometimes help cook the
meals. The students are extremely good mannered and are willing to serve the

Before
Ted arrived back in July 2011, there were no programs, today Regeneration
provides Art on Mondays, Money Management, baseball and Alfa on Tuesdays,
Bingo, Tickets to Brampton Beast hockey games, they now have a Choir, Bible
Studies, Hope Community Garden, Walking the Coldest Night of the Year, Movies,
and more, plus Regen now provides haircuts, showers, clothes closet, health
kits, Chiropractor, SHIPP to help with housing needs to the many on the
streets, or at risk of being on the streets. Plus many more that help people
build their self-confidence, and a sense of self worth.
His staff
works hard too and is always pleasant to talk to. Staff includes Bruce, Angie,
Jena, Natalie, Natasha, Ben, Jacob, Spenser, and the many volunteers who help
cook, clean up, and man the sign in desk or set up for the various activities
that take place.
Ted is
warm and friendly and his door is always open to anyone who needs some solace,
and a comforting word.
Serving a Hot Breakfast to start the day right.
Around Thanksgiving,
Christmas, New Year's, and Easter Regeneration serves a special holiday dinner
for the many that come to Regeneration, and on the odd Sunday, a special Pasta
Supper on, which includes Pizza and a pasta dish.
The
people who attend the breakfasts and lunches plus partake in the many programs
that Regeneration now provides, are internally thankful for Ted's and his
staff's efforts and should be grateful, as it gives people hope, a decent meal,
clothes, and a sense of purpose each day.
Personally the Art program has been a
huge positive influence for me, as I cannot wait for Art Mondays.
Thank
you Ted, for all that you do, and continue doing each day. Your efforts are
greatly appreciated and internally grateful for all that you provide. You give
people hope
Thank You Ted
